Cost of the iPhone 4S Across 28 Countries

Share

iphone-pricesI bought a new iPad for my girlfriend two days back. I originally intended to buy her a phone, but couldn’t find anything in the market that wasn’t the iPhone and was worth my money. I really liked the Samsung Galaxy SIII, but it was beyond my budget. The hardware on Nokia Lumia 810 was a revelation and Windows Phone continues to impress, but it won’t get the WP8 upgrade, making it a poor choice. I was determined not to buy a Motorola (though the Atrix 2 was impressive) or a LG (again, the Optimus is a fine phone). HTC didn’t have too many new ICS models, and the new ones were either underpowered (HTC One VC) or too expensive (HTC One X).

Frustrated, I ditched plans for a phone and decided to buy an iPad instead. My girlfriend definitely isn’t complaining.

Charts, figures and more analysis to follow after the jump.

I did some research today on domain registrar distribution across the Alexa Top 500. My original intention was to see how deep GoDaddy’s tentacles run among the internet’s most popular sites. The results were a little unexpected, however.

Further Analysis of Startups From TC Disrupt 2010: MBAs Dominate, Experience = Funding

Share

im-doing-hard-core-researchIn this (really long) earlier post, I tracked down the 25 startups that launched at TC Disrupt 2010 in San Francisco to see how they’ve fared in the year and 3 months since. The picture wasn’t exactly too encouraging. There were more than a few hovering close to the deadpool, while some were still stuck in beta. But there were some bright spots as well, including one of my favorite startups, CloudFlare.

So I decided to dig deeper into the 25 startups to see what caused some to be racing away on the highway to success, others to be trudging against the rough currents of the deadpool, and whether the TC Disrupt coverage helped them in any which way.
